Winter Cardinal

This is the mate of the female in my last post. It was 20 degrees out and the first snow fall of the season. I managed to get several nice shots this Cardinal couple. Eventually my fingers got cold and I went home. I liked the pose and the feel of winter this image conveys.

Thanks for looking, comments & suggestions are always appreciated!

Superb job on the Cardinal, Steve.  I like the berry dropping down from above.  My only nit is the oof ice covered twig coming in from the right that partially obscures the second berry and almost touches the Cardinal.

Steve,

up to now I was only able to photograph this nice bird once many years ago in Tucson, AZ.

I like this image and Dennis said already more or less what I tink as well.

Beautuful shot, Steve. Nice job on the reds.  Whenever I get a chance to photo a cardinal the reds seem to be screaming hot.  The branch near his shoulder can be nipped a bit, but that's not a big deal overall. Great job!

Great shot.  Being born and raised in the east, I miss this beautiful songbird out here in central California.devil

Beautiful winter Cardinal Steve!  Love the head turn, snowy perch, berry more or less the same color as the bird.  Ideally that oof limb wouldn't obscure the other berry and intersect with the bird but that's a very, very small distraction in an otherwise wonderful scene, captured perfectly.  devil

Excellent work Steve.  Love the winter setting and the red berries.   Nice head turn, the image is sharp and nicely framed.

Looks like a classic winter scene.  Xmas card perfect.  Nice the way the berry echoes the plumage.
