Red-tailed Hawk

At least that's my best guess at the ID.  Doesn't seem to fit anything else and fits juveniles I've seen in the past.  All the talk lately about Bosque del Apache made me go back and look at the images I got from a couple of days there this last February (the cranes were about gone).  This one posed for me for quite awhile.

7D2, 500mm f4 ISL, beanbag on truck window, f/8, 1/1250, iso 500, aperture priority, center-weighted average metering, +1/3 stop compensation.  Processed in LR5 + CS6.  Cropped to a 4x5 aspect ratio with a little extra off the left.  Final size is 14.2 Mpixels.  Taken February 15th, 2015 at 1:36 pm.

I always appreciate your omments and criticisms.

Thanks,

Dennis,

I like the over shoulder pose of the hawk and generally the image is fine. Unfortunately I cannot help with the ID.

Nice pose from the hawk Dennis. I would try to brighten the eye a bit if you haven't already. My best guess, like you would be Red-tailed. Good detail and comp.
