Paternal Eagle

This is a photo of a Bald Eagle overlooking the nest at Cattle Point on San Juan Island in Washington.  Eagles have begun to make a come back on Long Island where they were absent for over 60 years, it would be incredible to see them as frequently as they appear in the Pacific Northwest where Ospreys are few and far between.

Good pose on the eagle and it looks like you have excellent detail.  I'd be tempted to try cropping this quite a bit more to eliminate most of the oof fir needles on the left, keeping some of the greenery above the bird to maintain the nice framing you have going.  Eagles are one of the great benefits of living around here-and we do have a few Ospreyssad.

Cool composition. nice management of the whites. In parts of Idaho (Long Valley, for example) the Ospreys outnumber the Bald Eagles 10 to 1. I think the best predictor for Baldies is salmon densities.
