Lions usually like to play first thing in the morning (warming up?).
This was taken in the now almost dry Savute Channel, Botswana.
EOS 1DX
200-400 mm F4 at 200mm
F5.6
ISO 800

Ken,

a very typical behaviour of this big cats and you managed to captured it well. Another pose, like standing, may have let the action stand out stronger, altough the expression of the young male lion says a lot.

Superb shot - only thing that would make it better would be a lower angle but that certainly is easier said than done

Nice action captured Ken ....... a lower POV would been nice but I know this is difficult most times when shooting from a safari vehicle <div id="myEventWatcherDiv" style="display:none;"> </div>

I love the action and emotion in this image. I agree with Luke and Mario about the angle, but obviously you can't just hop on the ground with a bunch of lions!

Nice action shot. I shows a different side of lions other than them tearing something apart. I think they are just a bit centered in the frame.

Thanks for your comments.
The inevitable vehicle look down is exaggerated by the fact that we were shooting down into the channel bed.
