I caught this Ring-Necked Drake as he was gliding in for a landing. Processed using Lightroom 5 and Photoshop CC 2014. Comments and critiques welcome.

Jerry,

nice glinding action, background and placement of the subject in the frame. The head seems to be a bit softer then the rest of the body, but still OK, also on the largere version.

Jerry,
Perfect pose, I agree that the head seems a little soft?

Nicely captured Jerry.  It would be even better if he were facing our way

Nice glide angle, Jerry.  It looks like your autofocus got fooled by the near wing as it and the side are nice and sharp, but the head seems rather soft.

Hi Jerry, the head is a little soft as mentioned already but other than that this is a really cool shot. Great color palette and if it was flying toward you it probably would have all worked out fine. You got any more?

Nice exposure and timing on this Jerry. I do wish he wasn't turned away from you and the head seems a tad soft to me. I am not sure if this is FF or a crop, so hard to say the exact reason without knowing all the facts. However, I see you were at ISO 320 and 1/1000. If you would have moved to ISO 640 or even 800, your SS would have been closer to 1/200 or 1/3200 and helped with any softness due to movement. Plus it would have enabled you to stop down to 7.1 or 8. These guys are fast. Personally, I am always trying to get a SS of 1/2000 or higher on ducks.
