Sandhill cranes are still migrating through our area and a few stick around all winter in weedy fields.  I cropped this photo with the right being more tight than the left?  Do you think that the comp would be helped by leaving more room on the left? I used an aperture of f13 which seemed to help with catching the group in-focus.  Let me know what you think.  K5 IIs, 600mm f5.6 (1/640sec at f13, ISO 800) Crop for comp, +contrast, LM and curves for lights, Topaz Detail, NR on Bg...........................Jim

I love the two that are giving you the "stink eye"! I like the environment, but there is too much of it. I would try a pano crop.

Excellent detail in the cranes, Jim, and a very nice grouping.  For my taste, there seems to be a bit too much foreground.  I think cropping it above the oof area might make a more powerful image.

Classic situation, well documented. If it were mine I would make it a slight panorama crop and desaturate the greens a bit. But both suggestions are strictly according to personal preferences, the images is good as presentd of course cool, cheers, Hans

Nice.  Only suggestion perhaps crop a little off the top so the fgd and bgd don't look so equal in size.
