On fire?

The Grebe seemed to have some thoughts on these over-the-top colors on the water. Autumn leaves with sunlight made for an intense reflection on the small forest lake close to my house ....

Nikon @ 700mm | 1/320s | f5,6 | ISO250 | overexposed 1/3EV | monopod

Thanks for viewing crying, cheers, Hans

Edit: since the BG is a little busy, I would recommend to check the larger version !

Superb, Hans.  Those colors are corgeous and your shutter speed and dof made the foreground ripples perfect.  The bird is just the finishing touch.

You crushed the colors!  Great DOF and lines in the water too - looks like it needs a hint of clockwise rotation

The gorgeous fall colors in the water make a beautiful setting for this bird.

Solid work, Hans! That water and what you called "busy" is to die for! I say this is up to your usual standards and techniques. A fine piece!devil

Love the golden water and nice head turn Hans. I agree with Luke about looking like it needs a slight CW rotation (viewing the water rings from the Grebe's body). I like this crop, but am wondering how it might look as a 4x5 instead of this 2x3 version (taking the room from the top mostly)
