To my eye the background is a bit busy and it would have been nice to have had the entire subject's reflection in the water but what are you going to do, everything else seems nice about this image to me. Hand held from boat, full frame.

Great pose and angle, Mike.  I like the log as well.  It might have been nice to frame the bird a bit higher in the frame to get more reflection and less bg , but still a very cool image.

A nice colorful image.  I also think a slightly higher position of the duck might have let you catch all of the reflection.  Still, a veryh nice photo.  Thanks for sharing.

Nice title ! One of those species that look too good to be true, you framed it in a nice setting ! Cheers, Hans

I like it like it is, Mike. The reflection is too broken to add much. You might think about a pano crop, removing about half the reflection and about the same amount from the top.cool

A very bold and colorful photo, Mike!  The large version is amazing and has much more presence.  I can't suggest any improvements in composition.  I think it is well balanced as it is and the reflection doesn't have enough detail to make it particularly important.  devil
