Often when I am phographing the birds in Gulfport in the morning, the light is harsh and back lit, but on Monday morning the overcast made for more manageable lighting.  I liked the elliptic pooling and soft light.

I like the soft colors of this image.  There is some detail in the white feathers, enough to avoid burn out.  The water ripples certainly add to the image.  It does seem just a tad soft, but maybe that just enhances the soft colors.  Thanks for sharing.

Lovely, peaceful looking image, Bill.  Excellent detail in the whites and I agree that the elliptical ripples are a nice addition.

Lovely, intimate shot - the heron didn't notice you, or wasn't bother at least, which always gives a great way of capturing natural behavior. The rimples in the water add nicely. Well done ! Cheers, Hans

Bill,
I like the ripples too but also the behavior with the slightly open bill and the full reflection. It's a pleasing image.

Aside from needing a very minor correction to get a straight horizon - this is a beautiful image.  I like the soft details in the bird, the ripple effect and that reflection

Lovely, Bill. The soft colors are just wonderful. I especially like that the bird isn't disturbed by your presence, which adds to the sense of serenity. Very nice work. I'd usually complain that the bird is centered, but the ripples in the water anchor the composition nicely.

Really lovely, nice muted colors. I like the pool of water with the ripples. Beautiful. Ray
