Northern Mockingbird

These were with me throughout my southern trip last winter and we don't have them up here, so I took quite a few shots of them.  I'm not sure why I haven't processed and posted one before this.  Anyhow, I liked the pose of this one.

7Dii, 500mm f4 ISL, monopod, f/8, 1/400, iso 500, aperture priority, center weighted average metering, no compensation.  Processed in LR5 & CS6.  I reduced the brightness of the oof bg and did a slight crop to 17.6MP.  Taken at Paradise Pond in Port Aransas, Texas at 10:29 am on February 22nd.

I appreciate all the comments on the Willet and look forward to your input on this image.

Thanks,

A nice pose and interesting habitat, Dennis. Port Aransas is a great place for bird photography.

Hi Dennis,

Nice muted colors and very soft light with lots of captured details. Your post processing worked very well for your effort...............Jim

Nice pose, showing a curious bird.. Bird colors match the grey behind the leaves as well. Cheers. Hans

Great soft lighting and sharp detail, like your POV and the birds lifted gaze Dennis.

The red berries bring some needed color to add more interest, well done!devil
