This big guy was minding a harem of twenty cows when another bull bugled from the hill to the right across the Madison River. The bull crossed the river and went up the hill to meet the challenger. The challenger gave him the slip and came across the river without the big bull seeing him. Once the old bull realized what had happened, he came charging throungh the river (note dripping water from the neck and bellly) and went after the challenger. The challenger wisely decided to run instead of fight. He was no match for this big guy. Amazing action to witness.

For me the obvious nit is the "messy" background, without the bull would stand out better, I winder if a tad more contrast may assist?
Jerry: this photo is so much more impactful when viewed large. My only suggestion would be to burn the fallen logs in the background. There's alot of them and they compete for attention with the bull. Richard
He is a fine, fine specimen. Nothing you could do about the logs on scene. I would have been wishing for a bit more interesting light, but he did offer a nice angle of bugling activity. I like the bit of fog on the river.
Hello Jerry , ...Great to witness ! Also enjoy your description of the developing scenario.

Nice timing on the bugle Jerry. I wish the logs weren't there, but it's where these guys are a lot of the time. I like the fog and dripping water.
