Ethiopian Wolf

As requested by John Tobias here is an image of the Ethiopian Wolf, enjoying breakfast, taken on the Sanetti Plateau, in Bale Mountais National Park, Ethiopia.

Listed as Endangered by IUCN, population is decreasing as a result of rabies and canine distemper introduced from the dogs of the ever increasing human population and their continued encroachment into "protected" areas.

The last estimates of population range from 290-310.

Great research and vaccination is being carried out by EWCP (Ethiopian Wolf Conservation Project)

Donations are greatfully received at

Very sad about the endangered information on this species Ken. That makes this even more special. not only to find one, but one gulping down a meal. Thanks for sharing!
