Autumn Morning

This is a picture from last fall in Northern Wisconsin. It was pretty much at the peak of the season and this was a wonderfully quite small lake that I really enjoyed. Thought I would post this last one before I head north for the fall season this year. Thought I was going to leave today but probably wont take off until Wed. now. Hope you enjoy the fall seasons where you are. Thanks much for all of your comments and helpful suggestions on my last post. I have the file ready for print now.

This one makes me want to be up north where the colors are already changing.  I'll keep it in mind if we get a good year for leaves here.  Great colors and textures, excellent comp, and sweet light. I particularly like the way the birch bark and all the leaves stand out against the dark backgound.

Have a great trip, Nick!

It is very nice to see two peaceful water scenes together on this site.  Although different, the calm water ties them together for me.  The color levels are very pleasing and the composition is spot on.  Nice job.

These are some really wonderful colors, Nick. It is nice to see the mixture or variety in the vegetation and obviously the stunning array of color. Overall processing looks darn good too.......laugh

Enjoy your upcoming trip and I hope you get a solid collection of keepers as a result of your travels north......enlightened

Ahhh, the beauty of fall in the Eastern/Northern Woods.  You've got an excellent collection of colors here, Nick.  The white trunks and their reflections add a fine contrast and good sense of motion.  This is especially well composed.

A crop from the top to just below the orange leaves in the top left is also a good composition. I would be interested to see what you think.

Igor, Yes, That does work quite nice and I'll look at that more when I get back. I'm off for the north woods and Lake Superior right now.

Thanks guys! Nick

This is really nice, Nick. The color is wonderful, and I like the composition very much. You might consider burning down the two bright snags, or (taking a little artistic license) cloning them out. Other than that, I think this works very well.

Superb comp and color, Nick. The reflection is such a nice element here. I like the square crop. devil

A quiet message always emanates from your photographs and I have come to admire this over the years. It's a message that lingers on long after the viewing session and makes me want to go back for another look. This photograph is a perfect example of what I am refering to.
