Bison Family

I realized I've been devoting too much time to sharing predator photos lately.  The herbivores deserve a little love.

This is a photo from my most recent spring adventures in Yellowstone.  Bison (and their calves) are pretty ubiquitous at that time of year, so I don't stop for them when I'm exploring on my own as much as I do with clients.  In this case, however, the cow was behaving a bit strangely.  Rolling around in the dust is nothing abnormal for a bison--though usually it's the males who are doing it--but in this case, this cow kept bobbing her neck up and down while giving me this bug-eyed stare.  I had to stop and snap a couple quick shots.

Hi Max

The cow looks like it is tell you to kip on moving.  Nice Shot.

That mom is really giving you the stink eye, Max. Love the dynamics of this shot with the OOF red dog in the back ground. Great shot!

It's a super pose on the mom Max.  I'm not sure what I think about the out of focus youngster, I like the concept but I don't like the position relative to the mom very much.  devil

Hi Max,

That bug-eyed look from mom is quite eye-catching for sure. I also like the mud/dust on the nose - another point of interest in the image. I do tend to agree with Nate about the OOF calf.

Cheers...thanks for sharing this one...
