The last monarch

Perhaps I am stretching it a bit, but when I viewed this image and saw the lone monarch flying in the air I thought what if this would be the last monarch to migrate?  With the reports of the low numbers of monarchs, coupled with the few I have seen this year I thought  this image could be symbolic.

John, I agree, this could be a sad statement on how bad things are for the Monarchs and of course numerous other species. I really like this image as a representation on the status of those wonderful butterflies.

If you saw the movie "The Hunter" with Willem Dafoe it was loosely based upon the loss of a species called the Tasmanian Tiger. Of course the last known real record of any Tasmanian Tiger was actually in 1936. cheeky
