Wingstem with Bumblebee

by Jim Zablotny

I found a single wingstem plant blooming in the prairie area by my honeybee hives. The bumblebee was a bonus. It was pretty windy and the background elements were fairly close to the subject so I used f8 , but woyld have preferred f13.  K5 IIs 600mm f5.6 + 1.4 TC (1/500sec at f8.0, ISO 500) crop for comp, Topaz Detail.

Wonderful bg.  A bee is always a bonus in my book.  The lighting is excellent and those blooms are quite interesting.  All adds up to a very pleasing image.  Nicely done
