Mark, what a beautiful little fall and pool you have here! The only thing I might want to tweak in this is the very bright highlight on the top edge, just left of center. It's very minor, but it does grab my eye a little bit.
Great colors in the granite, and the pool especially.

Beautiful. Love the way the flowing water seems to be painting color onto the rock

Perfect framing of the pool and falls with granite rock. I agree wth Craig on burning down the bright highlights on top. I might also be tempted to darken the entire granite frame slightly to bring out its rich texture and color.

Mark, the LARGER version linked here is wonderful to look at. The actual composition is a perfect find from my POV. I could see some more processing here and there for highlights slightly, but nothing severe at all.......looks really good......

I like this a lot, Mark. The curves and textures in the rock are wonderful. I do think the upper left quadrant, above the orange rock, could use some tweaking so that the orange rock and the upper part of the water are accentuated. Your composition looks very nice.
Just a note: This isn't granite. It's a metamorphosed sedimentary rock.

I love the texture and color in these rocks. I think that more richness can be gotten from the rocks by adding more contrast and sharpness, especially on the left half of the image. It may be worthwhile to visit this place after a raining day when the colors in the rocks become more pronounced. Love image. The circular composition with the falls in the center works very well. And the tone separation between the rocky frame and the water is also right on.

Thanks for the positives comments and 'critic' - Even with a good picture there is always room for some improvement and certainly toning down the highlight on the top left is something I have already taken on board, and yes, I will revisit the left side of the image for some very fine tuning as well ...
Unfortunately I live about 600km away from this location so the weather is very much what you get - also the picture is actually taken in the middle of the river bed and the water around the rocks can change quite dramatically depending on how much rain is falling in the mountains above the valley. -Whilst I (and my partner) tend to take more risks than we should, clambering over these rocks in the rain might not be such agood idea ...

Wonderful colors in the rock and pool. I was wondering if sun was hitting the left lip of the rock or was that it's color? Like the abstract quiality of the framing.

Hi Harry, thanks! A bit of both actually - some of the rocks have quite a strong orange / yellow colour to them where as some are quite blue / grey - which is why there are so many photographic opportunities in this location. At the time this was taken the sun was just beginning to clear the mountains and to strike the rocks ...
Cheers, Mark

I like the circular bowl in the granite that contains the pool. Nice shutter speed to give some softness yet detail in the water.

Your composition show me this scene in a convincing way, Mark. I especially enyjoy the sense of steadyness and flow working together.
