Familiar Perch

Sorting thru some older files and thought this was worthy of posting. This is the famous Osprey perch in the back yard at the river's edge next to the dock, it has been featured in a lot of my Osprey images and other images by NPN members who have come to visit during the Spring Break Tour. 80% of full frame, hand held, most likely from neighbor's dock but maybe from boat judging by the angle and POV.

Very good detail/DOF & I especially like those outstretched talons Mike.

Great timing on this most "worthy of posting" one, nice catch!devil

great job freezing the action and getting awesome focus of the osprey's eyes. I like the high key effect too. The stick has a purplish color to it Im not sure if that's natural or not. Great capture!

Hi Mike--The large version is awesome.  I like the high key presentation and the perch and osprey go well together................Jim

Hey Mike, Great timing on this capture. Perfect comp too. I am seeing a yellow color cast on the wings and wondering if that is a natural effect of the lighting. Regardless, a very cool image. Well seen and shot!  enlightened

Cool landing shot, Mike.  Did you bring the exposure of the wings up quite a bit?  They have a bit of a noisy look and that slightly odd color that make me think that might be the case.  The wing position and look of concentration are fantastic.
