Ken, I like the scene as presented and do not find any nits with regard to the foot being lost in the scene. The main subject of the baby is what it's all about and the larger version provides an excellent view of all the finer details there.
Only change I might entertain is knocking out the highlight in the BG center. Maybe just loop it and content aware it out of the scene, or clone it away, or just darken it.
Otherwise......good to go.

Ken: the baby is nicely framed by the mother's legs. The specs and composition are fine. Agree with Paul re darkening the bright spot. Richard

When there's great subject before the camera, tea can wait.
I don't mind the Mums foot but would have preferred more OOF BG.

Wonderful story telling image! Techs are spot on and lots of appeal imho.

Don't mind the clipped foot a bit as the baby is the center of attention. A little less confusion in the BG would be nice, but habitat is what it is. Re-warm the tea; well worth the wait.
