Buff Tip moth. I have to admit a sharp eyed friend found this, I walked straight by. Amazing how nature adapts to its surroundings and these moths are pretty difficult to spot in their habitat.
Canon 7D MK11, Sigma 105mm, 1/125th sec at f2.8 and iso100. Not sure why I only used f2.8

Excellent details & textures not often seen in a moths wings like this..
Great contrasting BG, light, & colors as well
I like the coloring in the photo,Graham, nice BR bokeh, and patterns on the branch. Perhaps a little more breathing room along the top of the frame so the broken branch is given some more weight in the frame. A great look at camouflage and natural adaptation.
This is a very sweet looking noctuid. Your freind has a good pair of eyes. Little more room at the top might help the composition, but this moth is awesome and deserves the center spot.

This moth really blends into it's surroundings. Great colors and details to show off the camouflage. f/2 seems to have worked pretty well for you. The subject really stands out against the bg. Well done
Great camo and extraordinary detail on this well disguised tip moth. I agree that a bit more room on the top and less on the bottom would make this near perfect.
Amazing camouflage! Sharp detail for only f/2.8. Great find and presentation.
That camo is amazing, especially the "freshly broken stick ends". A fine capture, Graham that has me grinning about how nature works.
