I staked out a spot and lie in wait for this shot of the Silverton & Durango Narrow Gauge during my visit to the San Juan Mountains last month. Yes, this is the river that was affected by the toxic spill. Latest news is that the water color and PH level has returned to pre-spill conditions.

Your efforts paid off handsomely, this is a very cool composition with a lot of interest and very enjoyable viewing.
Well done . . .
Nicely done. I would be curious to see it done B&W with some old-time effects and toning thrown in, given the old steam engine, etc.
Very timely for me Bob as I started watching another season of "Hell On Wheels" last night. I really like the location you picked to capture this old train with the small waterfall just below it. I would also say that the bridge supports look like a collection of whatever was on hand and have been constantly wedged along to keep things a bit tight. The darker light in the gorge seems to add to the consistency throughout the exposure too. Nicely done.
Nice job on this image. The diagonals of the train and the river crossing are a nice compositional feature. Good color contrasts. The Animas Canyon is amazing. I know it is better now than it was during the spill.
Excellent comp with the opposing angles, I like the fact that the conductor is clearly seen also.
I especially like the steam & smoke billowing out from the old steam engine, very cool Bob!
Simply a wonderful. Shared with a young cousin who is a train maniac.
