At least I'm pretty sure. I didn't hear this particular bird call though I heard some in the area. I went back to the same area as my last post, but the fallen tree had literally no morning light, so I moved operation to a couple of clumps of bushes and small trees about 50 yds away that get nice morning sun. It was a great morning for birding and I got a few decent shots out of it. This was my last session before I had to leave so the light was getting a bit harsh.

8 commentsThe large image is very sharp Dennis. I've never knowingingly seen one of these so I can't help with ID but I really am impressed with you new lens. BG is superb.
Could very well be, Dennis. ID of these guys is always a challenge. But it's hard to think what else it could be in your area. Interesting to see one at eye level; ours are always at the top of the canopy. Good shot but I might back the sharpening down just a tiny bit. I like your composition.
Tack sharp details, excellent DOF & use of the early light Dennis.
Like the mottled colors of the BG as well.
Your guess is as good as mine would be on this Dennis, after looking at some images of them, I do think you ID'd him correctly. nice techs on this
Nice look at this guy Dennis. Beautiful background, excellent detail, and well composed.
A sweet portrait you captured of this fellow Dennis. Light still looks nice. My money's on Western Wod Pewee too, but I'm no expert when it coes to fly-catchers.
A beauty
Detail on the large image is excellent Dennis, I like the curved perch and the Pewee's pose, well done. Ray
Very nice Dennis, the details are tack sharp. I agree that your new lens is working for you. Cute little bird, but I'm afraid I'm no help with the id. Real nice frame!
