This windmill was located down in what is now known as Temecula Wine Country. Back when this was taken years ago now it was nothing more then open range for cattle grazing. In fact, the morning I took this I had to negotiate with several cattle that had the dirt road blocked I was traveling over to get here. They did not seem too worried about me and my SUV muddling along in the fog laden terrain.
Anyway, not too much to add to the outing beyond it was right after a winter storm and good all around soaking. Something of a rarity these days in So Cal as well as the missing windmills that dotted the ranches and farms in the area also.
Thank you in advance for your C&C's and please review the LARGER version by clicking on the image. I decided on the pano look on this one with a cropped image of the original.

4 commentsIt's a beauty, Paul. The glow of the wet grass in the long light and that great sky with fine colors and a terrific collection of clouds work together to set off the windmill and the distant mountain very very well.
The Velvia feel really comes through here. I lived in San Diego in 1994 for a year and visited several wineries in this area. This could have been taken before that? I like the feel of the image.
Thank you both for your comments on this image as always.
@ David, to answer your question, sometime in the early 90's, I don't have an exact date......
Boy that Velvia really makes the colors pop on this image, Paul. If I didn't know from description where this was taken, I would not have guessed California. Very nice.
