Nasturtiums...they're edible you know?

This was a roadside find in the small community of Davenport, CA, about 25 miles north of Santa Cruz or 60 miles south of San Francisco on coast Highway 1. Nasturtiums grow wild along the coast and are prolific growers. This bunch was growing along a side-road with Carmel sandstone as a backdrop. The rich green leaves and bright orange flowers caught my eye; a typical, foggy overcast day made for great lighting.

Jim, Matthew, Prashan, thank you for looking, and especially your comments.

Prashan, I scan all my 6x7's and 4x5's on an old Cannon 2400U flatbed scanner.

We have a bunch growing in our backyard every year. Wonderful flavor on some of them. Great to have with salad to add a natual mustard flavor.

Great composition and colors with this one. the contrast works well both in terms of colors, but also with the texture, soft and organic straight into hard rock.

great image.

Reno,

Great job on this one with the composition. It's has a very smooth transition from the bottom right on to the top of the image. And to find such an array of flowers with those rocks bracketing the top, perfect and well captured. :toast: :toast:
