The Gathering

Early morning at the  Marine Preserve in Dana Point, SoCa. I think I got the best light of this overcast Saturday. A rare July storm making land. The sea stones and I wondered how much rain we might get...and finally a good soft drenching for about 4 hours. Comments and critique welcome.

Nikon D7100, f16, 80s, 16-85mm @42, Lightroom for post, grad filter  for sky tones.

Nice title! I like the look of the rock, but I also dig the vague diagonal lines in the lower clouds in the distance. Is that a sailing boat I see on the horizon on the right?

Nice subdued light, Stephen, and the rain/virga in the distance really makes the image. My plants would love to get some of that wet stuff up here in the Central Valley.

Nice stormy coastal scene. I like the muted tones. Good mood to the image.

I like the tone of the image, it looks really smooth even if it's a storm. I like the shutter speed for the ocean it goes with the storm. I like this kind of mood.

Really cool subdued scene.  Love the soft light on the stack.  Very nice.

I really like the soft light on the seastack, and the rain. There's a sense of gentle drama here that I really like.

The light is exquisite, there's a quiet drama about the sky and the composition is just right;  the whole image is richly evocative of a place and time.
