I returned home from work much later than expected and hoped to get a few more hummingbird shots before nightfall. I decided to use a 32mm extension tube to get closer to a perched hummingbird. With not much light, I captured a few OK images. K5 IIs 600mm f5.6 +32mm extension (1/160sec at f7.1, ISO 1250). Noise reduction, exposure +.5stop,slight crop. I used the rubber stamp tool to remove vignette on left side. Before work, I went dust bunny hunting and removed a lot of dust and gunk from the camera's sensor, but a few more hunting trips are needed...............................................Jim

6 commentsVery nice image, Jim! Great pose and comp. Excellent feather detail. If it were mine I might try lowering the brightness of the perch a little bit.
This worked well, Jim. Nice pose and exquisite detail.
Very nice Jim. Beautiful catch light, fantastic BG and serene little hummer on a (how did you ever get that) well focused branch too.
Sweet shot of this little beauty with great details, colors, comp, & BG.
Nice job in the low light & thanx for the info on your processing.
Well done Jim!
Nice head turn and good detail here Jim. I am going back and forth about the comp. Wondering what this may look like as a vertical 4x5?
Nice clean shot Jim. The greens all go together well. Comp looks good to me.
