Bullet Proof

Came across these guys Bowfishing on the Salt Springs Run to the St Johns River in Florida and they allowed us to tag along for a while to catch some images of the action. The images were the only thing caught during the session as the fish seemed to be Bullet Proof or Arrow Proof in this case. I selected this shot to post with the arrow in mid-flight and the nice feel for the environment of the area. Full frame, hand held from boat.

Have never tried shooting hand-held ( or any other way ! ) from a boat, Mike, but I reckon you've done a good job here.  The men's poses against the distant landscape strangely remind me a bit of ancient Egyptian wall paintings brought up to date !  Nice catch !

Hi Mike,

A good action shot of these archers.   They need an osprey's vision to improve their aim.  Well done......................Jim

Mike: I think your photo captures the action very nicely as well as giving a sense of the environment. I've never seen photos of this type of hunting before. Thanks, Richard

Great action shot Mike. I think I would like to see the whole boat. Two lines in the water on this one is cool. Love the semi focus on the BG to give a feel for the environs here too. Nice colors in what appears to be the evening light.
