I was fortunate to find a couple of Oystercatchers flying around some large rocks on the shore that allowed me to get fairly close. I liked this one because of the open bill and splash of water; also, they are more likely to feed on the rocks than in the water (so I've been told), so this was a more unique shot. I was also able to get pretty close to eye level when I took the shot.

Comments and suggestions much appreciated.

Nice detail in the blacks. I like the splash. Was this taken on the Oregon coast?
Nice one, Allen. Excellent job on exposing the blacks and I really like your low angle.

Thank you for your comments. David, this was taken on the Oregon Coast at a place called Strawberry Hill, between Yachats and Florence. I've seen them there for the last two or three years.
Excellent exposure and love the action with the splash of water Allen. Nice work!
