Fish hung on wooden racks to dry - a typical sight on the Lofoten islands in northern Norway. The sheer number of fish you see hung on all the racks when driving across the islands is beyond imagination. I tried to combine this typical sight with the characteristic sharp peaks near the western end of the chain of islands. This is the best result I got.

4 commentsYour framing oh the mountain between the fish racks works well Basil as does the B&W. The number of hanging fish amazed me too when I visited there a couple of years ago.
I like the feeling of being surrounded by the drying fish, as though it were raining fish! The sharply pointed mountain makes a nice addition and the repeating triangle in the wooden structure also make this an interesting photo. I like the black and white treatment. Excellent job.
Thanks for commenting, Eva and Kathy!
Hey Basil,
This is simply a wonderful composition that you captured with all the interesting elements perfectly placed. Reminds me of a scene from the movie "Old Man and the Sea". Your POV and B & W conversion are inspired and very enjoyable viewing.
Congratulations on the WP . . .
