I often use a 50mm lens with extension tubes because it has a bokeh which, given the right angle, produces unrivalled atmosphere. This image shows grass and a spider web, all covered in dew, with the early morning sun playing in it, revealing an almost baroque or rococo tapestry image.
50mm - extension tubes - f/1,8 - 100 ISO - 1/1000s - Nikon D800E - no crop, nothing added or removed
I have been very absent recently, part of the reason for that is because I've been working on my new website; if you feel tempted, do have a look at the result of all that hard work

I remember your avatar and opening image on your web site from the 2010 editors pick awards that we both were part of. I've seen it published elseware, but can't remember where. Great work. Welcome back.

This is a very "painterly" image, Ingrid. It feels very much like an impressionist painting with enough detail to know what the subject is while creating a fine gentle atmosphere. The oof strings of light from the dew drops are a special addition.
