I happened to run across an old driftwood stick that I used as a perch years ago and resurrected it for the Bluebirds. Thus far, this image of the female is my favorite.
7Dii, 500mm f4 ISL + 1.4TC, Jobu Gimbal on RRS legs, f/9, 1/500, iso 100, aperture priority, pattern metering, -1/3 stop compensation to avoid blowing out a bright spot on the perch. Processed in LR5 & CS6. Cropped to 18 MP from the top and right. Taken June 20th at 8:09 pm.
Your comments and criticisms would be very much appreciated.
Thanks,

5 commentsNice clean shot Dennis.
This is real nice Dennis! Great perch, background and the Bluebird is very sharp with soft light. Also the worm is placed well in the birds beak. The light area in the right upper corner is a little bit of a distraction but what could you do. Nice work.
Nice perch. Nice background. Nice Image. The bug is nice also.
I love everything about this Dennis. Nice and clean and lots of detail.
A very nice shot of this pretty girl and her prize. Well done.
