I took this image about a week after I took my previous Globe Flower image (titled Yellow Flower). It was another cloudy day (We've been having a lot of them lately) and it began to rain a few minutes after I took the image.
Canon 60D, f/11, 1/320, ISO 2000, 330mm focal length, Topaz Denoise on bg.

7 commentsBarb - I like both the versions as they highlight the flower in two different angles. Background is more uniform here, so it works in this shots favour.
I also like the fact that the buds are composed without merging with the petals or bloom holding stem. Good Work.
I like this better than the other Globe post Barb.
The darker BG really makes the bloom pop, love the symmetrical comp.
Those stamen look like flames of fire too.. Beautiful work!
Outstanding colors and comp.!! Love it.
Very nice, Barb. I also prefer this version.
I missed the first post and checked it out in your gallery. I agree that the darker background and slightly off center position in this one are improvements. Nice image.
This is right up there with your best images, Barb - a perfectly executed portrait with a soft and nicely graded background. Superb control of the yellows
Hey Barb,
Beautiful work here and I too vote this version mainly because of the background which seems to add more to the composition than the first.
Well done . . .
