I figured I'd post one of the male from last night on the new perch.  He seems to use it more than she does.

7Dii, 500mm f4 ISL + 2.0TC, Jobu Gimbal on RRS legs, f/8, 1/800, iso 800, aperture priority, pattern metering, no compensation.  Processed in LR5 & CS6.  Cropped to a 4x5 ratio.  Final size is 15.6MP.  Taken yesterday evening at 8:07 pm.

Your comments would be very much appreciated.

Thanks,

Nicely composed with good background, head turn, catchlight and perch.  I like the reddish tint in the bird and perch; contrasts well with the background .

Another beautiful image. This perch has been great. I too like the b/g and the deep blue of the bird. The spider in the mouth is a bonus.

Beautiful lighting, nice perch, bg and the bug is a great bonus.  With the bird's tail facing you I would have preferred if it was more in focus but it looks like you didn't have a lot of light to work with in the fading light, sweet shot Dennisdevil

Another nice pose Dennis. I like this one better with all the blue feathers of the male.

Hi Dennis

Great shot with all the glass, the light really brings out the blue of this Blue Bird.

Wow!  The thumbnail really does not do this one justice.  I like everything about it, perch, background, pose, light, and the snack.
