The last-arriving Interior Alaska spring migrant, the Alder Flycatcher. The only way I can tell Alder Flycatchers from other Empidonax species is by the call, which sounds to my ear exactly like "free beer." Yes, he is perched in an Alder. The late evening light (10 PM) makes him look a little more yellow than he really is.
40% of full frame. Adjustments to Levels. Selective sharpening to the bird.
C & C, please. Thanks for looking.

5 commentsSweet, Jim, but where's the free beer? Excellent pose and detail and some wonderfu late evening light.
Nice clean, simple and sharp image.
Nice pose and I like the curved branch. I was thinking I might crop this a bit, but saw you are already at 40%, so probably wouldn't crop it further.
Looks like a peaceful little fellow in this image ! Never seen one, thanks for sharing ! Cheers, Hans
It's tough to get good shots of these little empidnax flycatchers and this one is nice and sharp, well lit and composed.
