Clearing Storm

This was taken  last fall in Banff. Had to wait a bit  for the rain to let up but finally it relented and I was able to get a bunch of shots of the clouds rolling over Mt Rundle as the sun tried to break through. Couldn't get this image to look the way I wanted so I set it aside for awhile. Much happier with the result now. Thanks for looking. Thoughts appreciated.

I'll post a B&W version as well.Not sure which I like better.

A wonderful natural looking shot of this mountain clearing slowly after what appears to be a bit of a deluge.  I love the reed bed in front with the complementary warm colours it provides.  I think I prefer it for this reason to the black and white beneath.

Carey, This is a wonderful scene with a composition that works really well. I like the conditions you caught here and love the natural look. I like the color version very much but i bet the b&w would make a fantastic print. Very nice work on this!!

Beautiful, Carey!!!  Tough choice on the two presentations. Each has such a different mood. I probably favor the color, but it is really close. I love the understated colors and look in the color version. Excellent processing. Very sweet image!

Love the fine art painting quality of this image, which looks very much like winter coming on. The light on the mountain is just right, leading the eyes back into the valley, foreground is gorgeous, just everything is perfect here.

Wonderful scene, especially the color version is a pleasure to look at. The colors in the grasses is what makes me favor the color version, although the B+W is also very nice of course. But the color version wins for me.

Amazing scene, I like the contrast with the FG and BG, the brown color of the FG, the beautiful mountain with its cloud. I think the composition is perfect for this scene and, for me, the color is my prefered one.

I really like this image. The composition, the colors and clouds over the mountain really make the image.

Great shot Carey. Nice and balanced composition. I like the mood in both versions, but I prefer the colour version. The upper left corner is a bit too light for my taste and I would suggest to darken this area a bit. But great shot overall!
