This was taken a few minutes before he was bombed by his sibling in my last post. I like the way that the distinctive white facial X of the adults is becoming prominent as he grows out of his juvenile plumage.

16 commentsTremendous color and detail. As for the crop, I actually don't mind the inclusion of more of the body in the frame, but I'm sure a more traditional vertical crop would work well too.

Oh wow this is awesome! I like the square crop and the colors are really great. Great job!
Classic portrait, Neil. Great capture of the GHO stare with the yellow eyes. Maybe clone out the short white stem left of the neck.
Cool portrait. No nits from me
, cheers, Hans
Neil,
Remarkabke detail, you certainly had a great sighting
Very cool, Neil. An excelelnt portrait.
Very nice portraiture Neil, I too like the distinctive white facial 'X'.. It magnifies the stare
I tend to agree with Scott, the white marks at the neck need to go.
Well done
Great shot of the eyes. Color, balance, detail spot on.
Outstanding image Neil. Great details in the owl and those eyes are amazing. I agree with the comment about removing the short white stick. It drew my eye right to it. Nice to know someone knows Andalusia. Great shot!
Great portrait, Neil! I have no nits, except the teeny white whatever poking out from the owl's neck.
The shortest long ears I've seen! Great capture of the stare, and excellent detail in the facial disk.
Love it. Great detail and colors on the owl. Consider toning down the brighter vegetation in the background? Love those eyes, they just pull you right in.
Hi Neil.
These Owl's are Great!!!!!!!.
