M/CU - 1st HM

Gallery: EPA 2015Posted June 4, 2015804 views17 comments

Three Years Later..

Rather large fly perched on some wild thistle (Silybum marianum) . I posted this three years ago in May. Did a rework with a bit more contrast, adjusted color/tone, and an even closer comp.

F/16, 1/100th, ISO 640, 1D M3, Sigma 150mm + Kenko 1.4x ext & fill.
Monopod for support. Thanx in advance for your comments/suggestions devil

Hi Howard,

The fly is always a worthy catch for the macro rig. I like the details in the face and the antennae are awesome.........................Jim

Howard ..thats an alien looking fly or the macro has made it look so. I liked the dof here, and inclusion of the plant. well done

Man - talk about fine detail on the fly!!! Perhaps not a print that I would hang in my living room cool , but this is a spectacular macro photograph, all the more so for being a single exposure!
