7 commentsHi Mike. A great shot of the Osprey with his gear down. There is something weird going on here. The pine tree/moss looks like it was between you and the bird, but no sign of it on the bird. Did you do some cloning on the Osprey? That's fine with me, just looks strange. I would be tempted to do a massive clone and take out that part for a cleaner image. On the other hand, I understand why you left it in—it demonstrates the high wind.
Nice look at the wings and talons. I do wish the spanish moss had been a little less intrusive. Nice capture regardless.
Phil and Jerry,
No cloning on this one, all the Moss is behind the Osprey. The Spanish Moss is so abundant in some of the areas I frequent that it seems only normal to include in these images and never intrusive. To me the Moss is a beautiful and unique environmental element that I and the subjects I photograph are constantly dealing with on a daily basis.
Thanks for taking the time to comment, always appreciated . . .
Excellent, Mike. Great landingpose and nice and crisp with good exposure and a perfect angle. I like the angle of the perch too, with the in-your-face end to it.
Removed some of the Moss as suggested to better highlight the subject, thanks guys for the input.

I didn't mind the Spanish Moss, Mike, but you did do a good job of trimming it.
Nice job on the moss trimming in the repost. The merge of the bird and the moss was something that jumped right out at me. It was advice well taken to clean it up. Of course, that means you have to say it was photoshopped, but photographers know that photoshop doesn't mean fakery.
