Cone Cram

Sony A77

Sony 70-400G @ 400mm, 24mm XT

ISO 400, 1/100 @ f5.6

Not an overt cram but I did shoot this through some leaves on our Rising Sun redbud tree. Phil's most recent shot reminded me that I wanted to post this so here is a selective shallow DOF shot contrasted to his tack sharp offering. I think its pretty cool that similar subjects can render such disparate images. All comments welcome. >=))>

Bill - I really like the "basal" cram (the effect limited to a small portion at the bottom) like you have done here. The focus is perfect on the center and enough space for the petals to breathe at the bottom.

I need to wait may be one month to see anything resembling a coneflower here enlightened

Really gorgeous depth of field effect, Bill - and the high key background really works, even if I tend to be a low key guy myself cool

And it may not surprise you that I appreciate the tiny filaments (spiderwebs?) enlightened

Wonderful shot Bill.  Great details in the center, and a nice cram effect.  I like your handling of the white.  Just feels like a serene photo to me.

Lovely.  The very soft mood, and the background work together with the flower to make this special.

The sharpness of the centre fading into the petal cram works beautifully, Bill.  A classic portrait, with excellent processing devil

Especially like the 3-D effect you've achieved in this presentation.  No suggestions for improvement... like it as is.

I like the selective focus and the BG a lot.

Colours are superb.

The colors here are spectacular, Bill.  I also like how most of the flower is sharp and that it fills the frame.
