Canon 1D-X, 500mm f4 + 1.4 TC, tripod
f9, 1/640, ISO400

The female Red-necked Grebe is now brooding three eggs. The nest is built in about 2.5 feet of water; quite an edifice.

50% of full frame. Adjustments to Levels and Brightness; selective sharpening of bird.

C & C, please. Thanks for looking.

Lovely light and reflection, Jim.  I do wish that one little bit of debris didn't interfere with the reflection of her bill, but that's pretty minor.

Large  version a must see as the bird details are very good -- to my mind could use some CCW straightening

The water's like glass with a clear & sharp reflection, I like it Jim.

Well managed exposure, looks like it was mid-morning & clear?

Great nesting shot of this species, first I've seendevil

Hi Jim,

I'm enjoying this series. Looks like your PP is back where it usually is too. Composition is spot on. Did she lose an egg? I thought there were four.

Another beauty you have added to this series JIm. Love the color and stillness of the water. A pleasing composition.
