Brother Tom did a grab shot of me with his iPhone 6 while we were scouting photo ops in the area. He is not a photog but does enjoy being out and about like me in the natural world.
I have a 36 inch inseam, so, I'd say this barrel cactus is just about 3 feet tall and in prime condition too.
btw: please notice the official NPN hat. This is my original field one and yes I do actually have a much newer version in tip top shape I wear to weddings and such.......

Great job of getting this species in its natural habitat Tom!
Hey Paul, nice to see you! Just don't sit on the cacti. Does look like the image may be tilted cw....
@ Howard, yep the old NPN hat has been used quite a bit over the years, with a few washings too. I keep my newer one for when company visits us here at home......
@ Mark, I did try to get brother Tom to take a seat, but he carries his fly weight golf folder chair out in the field. I did check the tilt, and yes it is slight, I think it's exaggerated by my lean. I'd had my coffee earlier at Sbucks, but this is pre breakfast lean.....
Gotcha over a barrel, eh, Paul?
Good to see you, sir!

As long as they don't make me get into the barrel......
Hi Paul, Really nice seeing you here! I got one of those hats somewhere but don't think it looks nearly as good as yours. Thanks for all of your thoughtful comments and help over the years. Best to you! Nick
@ Nick,
You're quite welcome Nick and ditto back to you for the same support on my own work....Thank you!!!
Paul, the hat is awesome! The guy wearing it and the photo of him not so bad either.
