Mississippi Kite 3

Sorry, another Kite image. I liked this one for the good look at that marvelous eye, the patterns on the back of his wing and the hint of color on the wing tip feathers. Still waiting for the Texas weather to break and bring out the sun. Processed using Lightroom 5 and Photoshop CC 2014. Comments and critiques welcome.

Nice pose and perch again, Jerry.  Looks like hte head is a bit soft-maybe some selective sharpening?

Love the details and colors on this bird, Jerry.  Too bad the head was just beyond the field of focus. I would love to see that eye and it's head feathers as sharp and clearly defined as it's tail feathers. In a case like this where there isn't any detail behind it that needs blurring couldn't you just up the ISO a bit and narrow the aperture to get the whole bird in focus?  Just a thought; I don't do birds very often so I may not have a clue.

I like the over the shoulder pose here Jerry with the nice look at the red eye.  I would crop to more of a vertical.  Great to get this species on a nice, natural perch.  I have them near my house but I always see them on power lines. devil
