That's the yellow plant in this image. The blue is Camas. I spotted the ring formed by the flowers of the camas and decided to spend some time trying to photograph it. This was my favorite result.
5Diii, 300mm f4 ISL + 1.4TC (I know-an odd combination for flowers, but I like the bokeh). f5.6, 1/2500, iso 640, aperture priority, pattern metering, no compensation. Taken at 8:14 am on April 17th at a local prairie preserve.
Comments and criticisms are eagerly awaited.
Thanks for looking,

5 commentsDennis, Beautiful colors and lovely morning dew. I like the idyllic feel.
Beautifully executed, Dennis ! There's just sufficient of the camas ring to give structure to the composition, without spoiling the natural feel of the meadow. Nice separation of the leading flower and good handling of the delicate colours.
I think your long lens view works very well here, Dennis. You've got a good emphasis on the blue of the Camas supported by the other flowers and grasses in the sharp foreground with a good collection of oof yellows fading nicely into the distance.
Hi Dennis
Excellent color harmony and beautiful form in this beautiful spring scene....
