One of our National Trust houses has planted rows of traditional English apple trees, of many different varieties, producing just now a wonderful range of blossoms. This is the first of a number of images I will be posting.

8 commentsBeautifully composed apple blossom, Ian. The three main blossoms are nicely balanced, and I like the dof. There is some noise evident from the high iso.
I love the details and the colors, Ian. Very pretty. With the dark on the top and the green on the bottom, it almost makes me feel as though I am falling over to the right. I wonder about a 180 degree rotation?

Ian, I like the fragile beauty and color of the blossoms. Not so sure of the heavy branch behind them. I see the noise Scott was speaking of, but I don't think it rises to the point of diminishing the photo.
Ian - Very photogenic flowers these apple blossoms are. Very precise focus on the anthers. Unless there was some distraction, I'd be tempted to include the flowers wholly on the lower right !
Really beautiful contrast and color, and the composition is excellent too! Depth of field is jsut right. And... great definition for ISO 800!!
A beautiful look at these delicate flowers! The colors are lovely and the detail is excellent.
Hi Ian. I have read all the comments about this photo. I am sorry (!) but I must say that I love the photo just as it is. Excellent for me sharpness, true colors and composition. I hope to see the other shots.
Ian: Delightful subject and a fine capture. Most excellent. >=))>
