Taken at this year's Savannah Scottish Games. At the games was a full schedule of different forms of Highland dancing (jigs, reels, sword dancing), heavy athletics, solo and marching bagpipes, Ceilidh singing, story telling, Border Collie/sheep herding, Scottish food, foot races, parade of the clans present, garment booths (kilts, socks, sporrans, etc), Swords, daggers, and on and on. Almost like a medieval fair. These festivities are all day family affairs. You bring the baby, the 5 year old, your grandfather/grandmother and your husband/wife, mom and dad. It is different and thoroughly enjoyable!
The games have made a home at Bethesda Academy. Bethesda was founded in 1740 as an orphanage by evangelist George Whitefield. Whitefield called the orphanage Bethesda, which means "House of Mercy".
I was asked to be one of the photographers for the Games 7 years ago, and I have been doing it, along with my wife Elaine, ever since. It helps if you like the pipes, which I love!
Thanks for looking! C & C are welcomed, as always.

2 commentsPhil - Great moment captured. I particularly like the timing which shows both feet off the ground.
