I photographed this white-crowned sparrow from an open window. The lighting could have been better and unfortunately, these birds have left for thyeir breeding areas. I cropped for composition and toned down the sharpening for the jpeg which was made from my print-ready tiff file. Very nice image. Simple, but effective. Nice pose, head turn and background. May just a touch of burning on the OOF flower on the left. I don't mind it there but maybe just a touch darker? Nice post
Great pose, detail, POV & natural color Jim.
I might've removed the OOF color left edge if it was mine, but it really doesn't take away either.
Well done
The bright spot does pull my eye a little further to the left than it probably should. Slightly tighter crop or a little desaturation of the bloom might be enough.
I do like it the way it is though.
Nice work, Jim.
Very nice. I like this. Great feather detail. I often see these around here at this time of year. I never knew that they were on migration and that their breeding grounds were so far north. Thank you for sharing this.
Jim,
This is a wonderful shot. Tack sharp and a great background. I wonder how it would look if you were to clone the arching branch that goes from his body to the margin out of the pict.
Excellent detail and a nice pose with a great bg, Jim.
