I find this to be a very pleasing image. The thistles, at least the purple ones, are very nice. Nice pose from the bird. I'm distracted by the large white, past prime thistle in the background however. Several options to deal with it. Too bad it was there.

Very nice, David. Great job on that blue plumage. I miht crop a bit from the bottom to decenter the bird a bit more vertically. I think the half thistle head in the foreground could probably go without hurting the image.

Very cool capture. Interesting colors. I'm fine with the thistles; they dd a lot. But I might try pulling the saturation of the blues down just a tad.

ooh, that's nice! I love the colors in this, and I really like the comp with the tall thistle in the center and the other flowers arranged all around. details look great. I agree with Keith that the thistle that's gone to seed is not ideal, but overall this is still really strong.
