This was taken just over a week ago in Nova Scotia. The ice flows made interesting patterns with the water reflecting colors of the sunrise. Taken with Canon SX50.
Comments and suggestions always appreciated.
Techs: ISO 400, 1/400 sec., F4 I don't think I used a noise reduction software, but can't remember. I will before printing.

10 commentsWonderful combination of colors, both in the sky and in the reflection. The scattered ice sheets are also great. If you have shot this in raw, it might be worth to see if you can get some more detail in the very bright part on the right.
Very nice comp Patricia of a fascinating scene... at least to a Californian. There seems to be quite a bit of graininess, particularly in the sky, that is probably too pervasive to do much about. So with all of the FG texture, this might work as a monochrome... then add some additional grain. A mono approach might also help with Roel's point about the brightest part of the sky.
Love the mix of warm and cool pastel colors here, Patricia. This is lovely! It does seem quite grainy but that doesn't detract from the beauty of the scene. Is that the camera or was it a high iso?
Brilliant light and color Patricia. This has a flm quality bout it that I like a lot.
Beautiful, Patricia. I like attractive repeating pattern in the foreground, couple with beautiful pastel colors.
Beautiful shot, Patricia. I'm sure the noise reduction software will go a long way to cleaning this up for a print. And a Sweet print it will be. I love the image as is but I'm also wondering if you got some shots of the ice without the sky or shoreline. The repeating pattern and sweet color would make an amazing abstact.
Great patterns and color Patricia. I like Roel's thoughts on the brightest areas.
The pattern of the ice flows is really nice and the color is outstanding. Might try and decrease the bright areas on the right hand side, perhaps trying to get a bit of detail. Just a thought of course.
Beautiful natural elements and colour palette. Might try to reduce some of the grain evident in the sky.
I find myself more attracted to the patterns on the bottom than the clouds at the top. The shapes and light with the water and ice flows are very appealing.
