This was a case of trying to make lemonade out of lemons. This was severely cropped and as I attempted to bring out some detail in the hummingbird I noticed that the results were more painterly than realistic, so I continued along those lines and came up with this. Comments appreciated.

1 commentsAlthough I like the image as a whole (nice postion of the bird and the catchlight in the eye), there are some issues concerning the sharpness of the bird probably due the severe crop. Also I think you should tone down the harsh pinks in the flowers a little bit, because it distracts the attention from the softer colors of the bird.
