Blue Dawn

Another from central Utah. This one shows the blueness of the dawn hour and I chose to leave it that way. To me, it conveys the feeling out there that morning.

Very eerie landscape Harley but I like it a lot especially the metallic sheen.  Don't think I have seen an image as unique as this from the area.

Remarkable light, Harley - I agree with the blues as they are!

This is a very forboding landscape.  Very well captured image.  The early light enhances the sinister look and the blue tone works well.  Nice job!

Harley, the thumb doesn't come close to doing just to this image.  The textures are awesome and the lighting sets them off perfectly.

Although I think I prefer the abstract nature of your previous one, this one is very, very nice as well. It has such a bleak and deserted atmosphere that you don't see too often. The dimly lit rocks towering above the grey surroundings are a very interesting detail.

The blues and shadowed textures have a spooky mood...contrast that with the emerging warmth of the sun lit peaks that stand so straight like palace guards at the castle gate...sweet....  nicely done!

Excellent image, Harley. This is significantly better than your previous one. The sun's rays on those cliffs provide a nice color balance for this otherwise cool image. If there is anything to be desired it would be that the sliver of warm sky at the very top be cool as the rest of the image, but cropping it out moves the buttes too high up to the frame. The landscape has a lava like look to it, which I personally have always liked.

I have seen this blue many times and it never ceases to amaze me.  The badlands are like chameleons, changing colors to meet the mood. Excellent viewpoint and sweet light on the exposed ridgeline. I might think about cropping to just below the lighter colored band at the top, just to keep with the blue theme.  Excellent as is.

Harley, this one really comes across as "otherworldly" IMO. Between the dim light, subdued colors, and the terrain it has a really out there look. Another excellent find from this alien looking desert. I like it A LOT....!!....laugh

This has a nice feel to it, Harley. I like the blue and the bit of added warmth in the sky and the buttes conributes to the feeling of early light.

Nicely done, sir!

Wow, what incredible terrain!  So other-worldly in it's appearance.  Your capture and processing are spot-on Harley!

First time I see it. It's amazing, I love that. It looks like lava trying to push the mountain of rocks in the middle. Really beautiful this blue. Bravo!

This is really special, Harley, particularly your handling of the light. I could even handle a bit more blue in the shadows.

Where is this if you don't mind? I was in central UT last month, too.

This is flat out fantastic, Harley.  The subtle blues are beautiful and that touch of light on those pillars really makes this sing and sing.  Love the textures and designs of the landforms.  The touch of color in the distant sky complements the light on the pillars quite nicely, and adds to the 'blueness' below.  An incredible image.

Harley: Have seen this same blue in Great Sand Dunes NP especially and really like what you have here. The first blush of light on the high points are a terrific complement. Many kudos! >=))>

WOW Harley,

This image is simply stunning. The dark moody blues are amazing, and they show so well with these badland areas. This image has such an emotional impact on me, and I am truly moved by this image!!!!

Stunning photography!!!!!
